Shandong enterprises thrive in global service trade

In the first two months, Shandong's importsand exportsincreased by 6.9 percent year on year, making up a significant portion ofdomesticforeign trade. Shandong enterprises are seizing upon theservice trade by offering more intelligent and green services to overseas markets,as services havebecome a significant driver of global trade in recent years.
For example, Shandong-based Inspur Communication Information Systems Co Ltd has seen explosive growth in its overseas business since 2024. Its overseas revenue in the first two months of 2025 tripled compared to the same period last year.
Itsoverseas business revolves mainly aroundsoftware exports, data center construction services, and related products. With the increasing demand for data centers driven by digitalization, the company has been building data centers in regions such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

Shandong has made rapid progress in the field of service trade. Three of its cities – Jinan, Qingdao, and Yantai – are recognized as service outsourcing demonstration citiesin China. The province is also home to six national and 16 provincial specialized service trade export bases, coveringdigital, cultural, traditional Chinese medicine, language, and human resourcefields.
