A celebration activity for the 20th anniversary of the China-US Commercial Match-Making Program (CMP) will be held next month, as part of the efforts of CCPIT bridging the business and industrial exchanges between China and the US, a spokesperson for China"s trade promotion agency said on Wednesday.
The celebration activity will be jointly held by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the US Embassy in China and the US Department of Commerce"s International Trade Administration next month in Beijing, which will adopt the format of a basketball match and networking reception, Wang Wenshuai, a spokesperson for the CCPIT, said on Wednesday at a regular press conference.
"Since its launch in 2005, CMP has established project offices in 27 provinces and municipalities across China, organized more than 100 events, and served over 3,000 Chinese and US enterprises. The program has facilitated practical cooperation between companies in multiple fields, including advanced manufacturing, rail transit, energy conservation and environmental protection, finance, and automobiles, playing a positive role in promoting the healthy and stable development of China-US economic and trade relations," said Wang.
The remarks were in response to a question on how CCPIT views recent economic and trade cooperation between China-US business and industrial sectors, as in 2026, China will serve as host countries for APEC and the US for G20.
Wang said that guided by the important consensus reached between the heads of state of China and the US, bilateral business and industry exchanges and cooperation have increased significantly recently.
