Zhangjiajie draws summer crowds with forest escapes

  Thanks to China"s 240-hour visa-free transit policy, Zhangjiajie has become a key gateway for international travelers. The city now offers 13 passenger routes to eight countries and regions, along with expedited clearance procedures.

  In the first half of this year, the park welcomed 3.28 million visitors, including 576,900 from abroad, marking a year-on-year increase of 41.47 percent, according to local authorities.

  The Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in Central China"s Hunan province has entered its peak summer travel season, attracting visitors from across China and beyond with its deep canyons, lush forests, and refreshing mountain air.

  Established in 1982, the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park spans 130 square kilometers. It is China"s first national forest park. It is renowned for its towering sandstone pillars and dense biodiversity, making it a popular summer retreat from the heat.
