  Beyond acupuncture, Professor Ma has another signature technique: umbilical therapy. As a successor of the Qi-Lu Gao family's Umbilical Moxibustion School,Professor Ma explains that the navel—the Shenque point (CV8)—connects connects internally to the Five-zang Organs and the Six-fu Organs, and externally reaches all the limbs and bones, closely linked to the Eight Extraordinary Meridians and the Twelve Regular Meridians.

  Applying moxibustion, acupoint plastering, or cupping at this locationcan, through medicinal penetration and meridian conduction, regulate diseases throughout the entire body—this is the principle of "a small navel treating major illnesses."

  Her team also contributes to the formulation of international and national standards, using modern scientific research to guide ancient therapies from empirical practice toward evidence-based medicine, and to help external TCM therapies gain wider recognition on the world stage.
