Chuseok is one of South Korea's most important traditional festivals, with a three-day national holiday. On Chuseok, Koreans first pay respects to their ancestors, then dance and enjoy the moon, and eat songpyeon—rice cakes made from rice flour with fillings such as red bean paste or jujube paste.

　　For Malaysian Chinese, the Mid-Autumn Festival is always marked by moon-gazing, eating mooncakes, and lantern processions, with events like these held in Kuala Lumpur and other cities. Lantern viewing and garden fairs are popular activities during the festival in Singapore, and Chinatown — known locally as "Niu Che Shui" — is the liveliest spot every year, featuring collective lantern parades and stage performances.

　　"As the bright moon rises over the sea, we share this moment though far apart." Although Mid-Autumn customs differ from country to country, they all carry people's reverence for nature, joy over the harvest, and cherishing of family bonds.
