Covering about 100,000 square meters, Qingcheng Market is centered around the Qingcheng Wenchang Pavilion, a nationally protected cultural heritage site. It is divided into over a dozen specialized sections, including fruit and vegetables, fresh produce, specialty foods, daily necessities, intangible cultural heritage crafts, and agricultural supplies and tools. From its early beginnings as a marketplace in Qingping Town in the Tang Dynasty, to the commercial boom of Qingcheng County in the Jin Dynasty, and its peak as "Thirteen Workshops" in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Qingcheng Market has steadfastly upheld its tradition of opening on days ending in 2 and 7 of the lunar calendar, never once ceasing. Today, it remains one of the longest-enduring, largest, and most vibrant rural markets in the Yellow River's lower reaches.
