LANZHOU, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- At the cultural and creative exhibition area of the 9th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo, a series of products blending traditional charm with modern design drew visitors' attention.
The expo, held from Monday to Wednesday in Dunhuang, northwest China's Gansu Province, brought together around 1,200 representatives from more than 50 countries and regions. It featured forums, cultural exhibitions and artistic performances to showcase Dunhuang's rich culture and promote dialogue on global cultural cooperation.
Dillon Thomas Longey, a 20-year-old student from the University of Central Oklahoma in the United States, and his companions moved from booth to booth, admiring Dunhuang-themed products with keen interest. Some bought postcards printed with mural patterns, while others were drawn to plush camels.
"This is so cool!" Longey said, describing the integration of history and culture into modern design as a fascinating way to communicate. "Sharing Dunhuang's culture and history through these products is really great!"
Because of a tight schedule, Longey only had time to buy a few postcards, but he hoped to choose more cultural products to take back to the United States for family and friends.
