In the United Kingdom, the delegation focused on visiting Cardiff University in Wales. They visited the School of Medicine of Cardiff University and the Cardiff-China Medical Research Cooperation Center. They had in-depth discussions with administrative and teaching management personnel such as Dr. Henrietta Standley, the dean in charge of international affairs of the School of Biomedical and Life Sciences, and Dr. Ye Lin, a senior lecturer at the School of Cancer and Genetics. They exchanged opinions on joint cultivation of students majoring in medicine and pharmacy and scientific research cooperation. At the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, the delegation visited the university's pharmacy and biomedical laboratory and the Technology and Innovation Center. They met administrative and teaching management personnel such as Professor Duncan Graham, vice president and dean of the Faculty of Science, Ms. Lin Fan, advisor to the president's office, and Dr. Paul Helen, director of international cooperation of the Department of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. They had in-depth discussions on joint cultivation of students majoring in pharmacy and biomedicine, exchanges and mutual visits of teachers, scientific research cooperation, and joint construction of scientific research platforms, and signed a cooperation memorandum.
