From July 9th to 10th, 2025, the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations grandly commenced in Qufu, Shandong, the birthplace of Confucius. This sacred mountain, standing just 340 meters high, is renowned both for the legend of Confucius’s birth—“born of a phoenix, raised by a tiger, and fanned by an eagle”—and for its millennia-long role as a beacon of Confucian culture.Wandering through Nishan’s Eight Scenic Spots, one encounters the Kunling Cave, echoing with the sage’s first cry; the Guanchuan Pavilion, where the timeless lament “Thus do things flow away!”still resonates; and the Zhonghe Ravine, etched with the enduring wisdom of “harmony in equilibrium.”From the Nishan Confucius Temple, first built during the Later Zhou Dynasty (951–960), to the Nishan Academy established in the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368), this land has always been a spiritual beacon of Chinese civilization. Today, this mountain—witness to centuries of reverence from Confucian scholars—welcomes global civilizational dialogue in a new era.

  What Does Nishan Offer?
